How Mia Made Everyone’s Job ‘a Little Bit Easier’ at McGovern Automotive

Founded in 2016, McGovern Automotive has quickly grown into one of the top dealer groups in the country, with 40 stores spread throughout the Northeast. When leadership decided to try AI phone coverage in 2025, they explored a range of vendors and solutions.

After finding Mia, what stood out wasn't just a product that was powerful and capable, it was the team behind it. "We absolutely hit it off right away," says Danielle DaSilva, Service Business Development Director for McGovern Automotive.

Now, 15 months later, Mia has helped McGovern drive over $18 million in revenue.

Forty stores, and a phone that never stopped ringing

McGovern's growth outran the staffing model for handling calls. While some larger locations may get a small team, most stores ran on a single service BDC rep. "You couldn't really afford to put more than one person in these smaller stores," says Danielle, and, she adds, "one person just simply can't answer all the phone calls."

Every missed call had a real cost attached, roughly $500 in lost RO revenue by Danielle's estimate, and that's before accounting for the customer who never calls back at all. That's the gap Mia was originally brought in to close: acting as backup and first line of defense for the calls a lean staff physically couldn't get to.

Launching Mia at McGovern Automotive

After launching the first two stores in May 2025, McGovern's decision to expand came easily. What made the difference was how Mia approaches performance: rather than handing over a log-in and walking away, the Mia team jumped on daily calls with each store to customize and tune the experience to their unique operations.

That hands-on approach reflects how Danielle thinks about Mia in general. she says. "Mia is very much like a human: you have to train her on how your store operates."

What 15 months of Mia looks like

As of July 2026, Mia has answered over 260,000 calls for McGovern and booked over 30,000 appointments. All of this has driven more than $18.7M in estimated revenue and given the team back over 90,000 hours.

"That's crazy to hear those numbers," says Danielle. "But I'm also not surprised, because I'm constantly listening to calls, so I see what Mia can do."

A meaningful share of that revenue was sitting in a place McGovern couldn't reach before: after hours. Mia has booked over 12,000 after-hours appointments worth over $1.4M in RO revenue.

“That’s a lot of ROI for times that we didn’t have people answering the phone,” said Danielle. “That’s just unheard of money that we never thought we could get.”

Embracing AI in the dealership

"When we first launched, I can't tell you how many people called me and were like, 'Danielle, you're losing your job. You're gonna install this in all the stores? You're not gonna have a job anymore,'" she says.

Her response? "I really wasn't worried about losing my job," says Danielle. "Mia hasn't taken anyone's job. In fact, she just made everyone's job a little bit easier."

The relationship, not the ROI

Ask Danielle to sum up 15 months with Mia, and the first thing she brings up isn't the number, it's the relationship.

“The Mia team is super dialed in. They're warm, they're welcoming, and they'll do whatever you need them to do.”

For McGovern, Mia was never just a vendor delivering a product and moving on. Instead, from day 1, Mia has been a strategic partner that stays in the stores, tuning performance long after go-live, and that shows in how closely the two teams still work together today.
